National Fraud Reporting Centre – Launch of Action Fraud Website
Individuals or business operators who have been a victim of fraud in the last 12 months and want to report it, are encouraged to contact Action Fraud through their newly launched website www.actionfraud.org.uk . Action Fraud can be contacted on 0300 123 2040 or Textphone 0300 123 2050. An on-line reporting tool will be added soon.
In the fight to prevent victimisation from fraud and reduce the UK’s fraud losses – recently estimated at £30 billion each year – the National Fraud Authority (NFA) last year established Action Fraud, the UK’s first national fraud reporting centre.

Action Fraud provides a clear signpost for reporting fraud. The Action Fraud contact centre takes victim reports of fraud and provides information to the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau (NFIB) to be analysed and used to build intelligence on fraud, giving law enforcement and counter-fraud agencies better information to better target fraudsters, better protect the public and bring criminals to justice.

Victims are given crime reference numbers and they may also be referred to Victim Support, which provides emotional support and practical help in the aftermath of the crime.
